Imperfection

Perfect paintings are usually forgettable.

It’s the imperfections that hold your attention. A mark that doesn’t quite resolve, a colour that pushes too far—these are the moments that create tension.

I leave those elements in deliberately. Not as mistakes, but as points of energy. They prevent the work from becoming static or overly controlled.

Collectors connect with this because it feels human. It doesn’t feel manufactured. It feels real, immediate, and alive.

That slight imbalance is often what makes a painting memorable. It keeps your eye moving. It keeps your attention engaged.
