The Artist

Christof Linden Welsby

A British Artist with a rich background in mix of traditional training and corporate design.

From an early age I have always loved art. Filling scrapbooks with doodles and images of the beach exploring colour through collage and finger paints. Later, with encouragement from my parents, I discovered Pyrography and the joy of burning portraits into beautiful wooden surfaces.
My formal education started with a
Foundation Degree in Art
followed by
Degree in Applied Photography, Studio and Lab
Bachelor of Education, Art Major
Bachelor of Fine Art
I am, of course, always learning new things which will allow my work to develop and grow as time passes.
Whilst studying and working as a teacher I was able to take advantage of many amazing opportunities which gave me an even broader insight into the art world.

I create original paintings, full of energy, movement and emotions. I don't produce prints at the moment so all of my images are one-offs.

My paintings are modern emotive abstractions which reflect my mood, my environment and todays' culture. I use mainly oil paints as I love the texture which they give but sometimes I include accents and detail with other mediums.

I use intense colours, marks, and textures to provide stimulation to the senses. The blocks and circles I use represent different components of our lives and their relationship to each other.
