'Furnace' — Original oil painting on stretched canvas.
Part of a series of three 24 × 30 cm paintings exploring colour, shape and the relationships created when simple forms are placed against one another. Each painting in the series is an individual original and is sold separately.
A vivid orange circular form sits within a deep blue-black shape, surrounded by sweeping fields of rich red and yellow. The dark central form draws the eye inward while the intense orange centre appears to glow against it. Visible brushwork and irregular painted edges give the surface movement and a strong physical presence.
