Part of my ongoing exploration of colour, shape and the relationships created when simple forms are placed against one another.
A layered white and blue form emerges against a vivid yellow and deep red ground. At its centre, a dark red ring surrounds a small blue-grey core, creating a strong focal point. The tapering blue form and irregular painted edges give the composition a sense of movement, while the visible brushwork brings texture and energy to the surface.
